Recently, we discovered that a number of passengers need a little more time or a call to make their Shared rides. To help you complete more rides (and get the earnings that come with them), the wait time for Shared rides is changing from 1 minute and 40 seconds to a wait time of 2 minutes. This applies to all passengers in a Shared ride. Also, If it’s the first passenger of that Shared ride, you’ll need to give them a call before marking them as a no-show.
90% of Shared passengers arrive within 1:40, so these changes will only affect about 10% of Shared pickups.
What’s new: 2-minute wait times
When you get to a pickup spot for a Shared ride, you’ll now need to wait at least 2 minutes before marking that passenger as a no-show. And if it’s the first passenger of a Shared ride, you’ll also need to give them a call before leaving.
If your pickup is a little more complex (think: airport), your wait time may be a little longer so the passenger can find you. This will be rare, and you’ll never have to wait more than 5 minutes.
Why the changes?
Since you earn more with passengers in your car and a small number of passengers need more time or a call, it makes sense to help passengers make it to their Shared ride pickup. And that helps you earn more.
