It's finally Mardi Gras, and drivers around the nation are gearing up in preparation for tonight’s festivities. From decked-out dashes to masked 'staches, it appears purple, green, and gold are the new pink! If you’re thinking about celebrating with passengers, here are some simple ways to laissez les bons temps rouler.
Splash of Color: Simple color accents go a long way when adding Fat Tuesday flare. Mind the traditional color scheme — purple for justice, green for faith, and gold for power — that can give that New Orleans feel, no matter where you are. Just take a look at Christine’s Lyft in Nashville.
Bountiful Beads. Nothing says Mardi Gras better than beads, originally given to people with personalities that project the bead’s color. It looks like Aaron is going to be keeping an eye out for a bunch of just, powerful, and faithful passengers in San Diego!
French Twist. Add some traditional French phrases for an authentic feel. Sabra from Sacramento incorporated one of the most popular Mardi Gras phrases in her Lyft, and it’s sure to get the good times rolling — literally!
Masked Merriment. Feathered, glittered, and boldly colored, masks are a big part of Mardi Gras culture. Originally, the masks were worn so members of all social classes could celebrate together. Apparently, Anne’s ’stache in Nashville is ready to party with anyone willing to fistbump!
Don’t forget to post Lyftstagrams and videos from tonight’s celebration. We’re sure it’s going to be one to remember!
