These suggestions come to you from Shannon, a driver and writer for the Creative Collective. Lyft is brand-new in Virginia Beach, and it's catching on quickly! While we wait for the movement to gain even more momentum, here's what I like to do while waiting between rides.
Park and Zen doodle
A friend introduced me to Zen doodling, a meditative style of drawing that requires no artistic background, and I can actually feel myself relax when I take pen to paper and work on a pattern. I like to find a table outside in a central area of the city, put myself in driver mode, and doodle away. This keeps me busy without getting too distracted by a project that might make me miss a request. Zen doodling lifts my spirits!
Visit the car wash
I've been getting a weekly car wash, but recently upgraded to the unlimited service at my favorite local spot. The more washes I get, the cheaper each becomes, and the fresher my car stays.
Promote the ’stache
I love to take a stack of referral cards into a bar or coffee shop during a not-so-busy time and chat with the employees about Lyft. Some of them have heard of us, some have seen the fabulous mustaches, and some have no idea that their life is about to change for the better!
The more we can stay positive and busy during our Driver Mode downtimes, the happier we'll be when we get that next request and zoom off to help our community.
