It was a sweet weekend to be a Lyft driver! On Friday, we challenged you to show us your favorite ice cream flavor, and promised the winning photographer an ice cream social for their city. You guys showed us every delicious flavor under the sun! Chris in Boston kept it weird with FoMu's dairy-free ice cream in nontraditional flavors. On the left we have mango habanero, and on the right cardamom pistachio.
Tiffany in Detroit, on the other hand, held it down for the classics. You can't go wrong with cake and Neapolitan ice cream.
Viet in OC teased us with this flavor description. Can you even believe such a combination exists?!
But it was Rich in Tucson who won us over with his close-up on this, the ultimate savory-sweet ice cream achievement. World, meet Rich's "candied pork belly ice cream with macadamia and maple." Wow. Just ... wow.
As champions, Rich and his fellow Tucson Lyfters will celebrate with their very own ice cream social. Big thanks to all who shared their cup or cone with us!
Special shout-out to our friends in Sacramento who didn't wait on us to have a sugar-coated social. That's right: #LyftSacramento went ahead and hosted their very own ice cream party this weekend. Good work, team!
Growing the Movement
The ’stache was a hit at the 44th annual LA Pride, thanks to a crew of LA drivers who organized a street team at the event. Handing out cuddlestaches, referral cards, and smiles, these guys did an amazing job showing the City of Angels what Lyft's all about: an all-inclusive community.
On her way to work, Rache made a new friend and passenger. She saw a man waiting for the bus and stopped to talk to him. Turns out he was new to Tuscon and running late to his first day at a new job. Lucky for him, Rache swooped in, explained the app, and gave him a Lyft to work — his first of what's sure to be many more.
Sactown Gets 5 Stars
Sacramento drivers didn't just spend the weekend eating ice cream. They had some fun unveiling their hilarious parody of 5-Star Feedback. Is your city up for the challenge?
By the Numbers
From Honolulu's first request to lucky passenger number 1,700, drivers across the country were counting the good times.
Stuart was excited to receive the very first Lyft request in Honolulu history, the moment the app went live!
Chris was thrilled to introduce his fifth mentee to the OC community! Welcome to the family, Theresa.
Alayna was able to capture a moment with her 100th passenger in Salt Lake City.
Meanwhile in DC, Brandon found himself celebrating his 1,700th passenger. Time flies when you're having fun!
