Indianapolis driver Alec recently shared the ultimate ride: a journey from the Midwest all the way to San Francisco. His friend in the passenger seat was Ashley Koss, fellow Indy driver and the latest addition to our Community team here at HQ. Buckle up and ride along via this excerpt from Alec's travel log.
St. Louis | Tuesday afternoon
The first stop on our trip led us to the Gateway City to meet Lyft driver Cari. After coffee and conversation at Sump, we quickly toured other sites such as Busch Stadium (home of Ashley's favorite team, the Cardinals), Gateway Park, and the Capitol building. Then it was back on the road to Kansas City.
Kansas City | Tuesday evening
KC was a blast! Since the city is known for its BBQ and top-notch Lyft community (of course), Ashley and I held a meetup with fellow Lyft drivers Miles, Nickie, and Andrew at Fiorella’s Jack Stack Barbecue.
Kansas City | Wednesday morning
On our way out of town the following morning, we decided to have a little mustachioed fun at Weird Stuff Antiques, the Kansas City Library, and the wild and crazy Lessman’s Farm Truck Henge. If you're ever in town, it's a must-see!
Denver | Wednesday evening
Ashley and I realized just how big Kansas is while trekking across the hilly countryside. We managed to keep ourselves busy with fun stories and the Alphabet game (Ashley: 2, Alec: 0).
The monotony was broken with our first glimpse of the grand, rocky terrain that would accompany the remainder of our trip. The weather broke to reveal an amazing sunset over the Rockies.
By nightfall we were hungry for dinner and excited for another impromptu driver meet-up. Enter Masha and Breck, a pair of Mentors from the Mile-High City.
After some BD’s Mongolian BBQ, fun stories, and fistbumps, it was time to turn in. A huge thanks to Denver drivers Brittany and Mary for putting us up for the evening — great hospitality, a great view, and endless gratitude from us.
Another entire day of travel awaits us tomorrow...
Say hello to Alec in the comments, and give Ashley a warm welcome to the team.
