Picking up and dropping off strangers is sure to give you some great stories. We're kicking off a new series, That Was a Trip, to feature some of your best ones. Visiting multiple Costcos in a single day actually sounds pretty fun. Think about it: The ladies in the hairnets won't judge you when you go back for a third sample of pretzels dipped in cheese; you can have a slice of pizza at one Costco, then a fro-yo at another; and you can drop off your first carload at home before heading to the next wholesale wonderland.
Manny, a driver in Los Angeles, recently had a Costco adventure of his very own.
A few weeks ago, he picked up a passenger who explained that she wanted to go Christmas shopping early. She'd purchased a blanket at Costco, and loved it so much everyone in her life had to have it — everyone.
The plan: Buy 150 blankets all in the same color.
The obstacle: Each Costco only carries 20 blankets in each color.
The driver's attitude: unfazed.
Can-do Manny took his passenger to two stores, filling up the already-giant carts with fluffy, cloud-like blankets. In the end, they were tragically only able to stuff around 40 blankets in Manny's car, and had to call it quits before the challenge was complete.
He posted later on the lounge: "Man, I need to get my Lyft sleigh ready!"
