I don't even know where to begin to describe launch weekend in Tampa, Lyft's first city in Florida (and 29th across the nation!). Between first-time passengers and those who know the ’stache from opening the app in other places, the community had nothing but awesome things to say about the friendly new ride in town. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiH0iI5yhh8
Intrigued onlookers throughout the weekend gave us a chance to spread awareness as we paraded our fuzzy pink ’staches through restaurants, coffee shops, beaches, and even outside the Tampa Bay Lightning stadium.
Judy's passenger even fistbumped the Hulk at Hogan's Beach:
Angel dubbed his wheels The PartyLyft, complete with beads, laughter, fistbumps, and plenty of new friends.
Krystina C.'s new gig got off to a great start when her passenger took her to grab some frozen from Rita's.
Green Lemon hosted a handful of us drivers for a hangout, a Lyft tradition.
Angela took her ’stache to new heights when she stopped by her husband's office (he's a pilot).
For me, what made opening weekend most incredible were my fellow founding drivers. We've quickly become a committed core, focused on doing everything in our power to promote the movement and set ourselves up for success. We work together as a team, share ideas, plan lunch events, and keep each other informed with things we learn. We look out for each other and have fun doing it. There are no selfish agendas, just the common goal of establishing a thriving movement here in Tampa — and we're settling for nothing less.
