You may have noticed your star ratings looked unusually low on recent summary emails. That was our fault – don't worry, you're still doing great. Our engineers discovered a reporting error on the back end that caused ratings to display an average of .1 to .15 lower than they should have. For instance, a 4.9 rating may have appeared as a 4.8 or 4.75 on your driver summary.
Rest assured, everything's fixed now! As of Tuesday, Sept. 23, your ratings are displaying correctly. Please note that your ratings were being recorded accurately during this time, and this was only an issue with how the rating was displayed.
A few more points:
- This had zero effect on your standing with Lyft. Because this was only a reporting issue, no drivers were wrongfully offboarded during this time. Your ratings were being calculated correctly in our system despite how they appeared on your email.
- Flags for improvement were also not affected. If you received a Cleanliness flag, please shake out your floor mats.
- Responsible parties at Lyft have been penalized. Our engineers' ratings dropped an average of .1 to .15 during this time, and it wasn't just a reporting error.
Please accept our apologies for any confusion this caused, and know we've taken measures to make sure this doesn't happen again. If you have any questions about your rating or how you can improve, send an email to email@example.com and we'll be glad to help!
