To make the most of your valuable time, we’re reducing your downtime and distance between rides. With “pre-matching,” you can get matched with another ride before dropping off your current passenger, based on your current passenger’s destination.
Sound familiar? We’ve been testing this in select cities for the past year. Now, it’s being rolled out to every ride with a destination entered
How It Works
Tap ‘ONLINE’ for a break. This turns on the ‘Last Ride’ feature, which signs you out of driver mode once you’ve finished the last ride in your current queue. You can tap it at any time: Your current ride and acceptance rate won’t be affected.
Check your route overview. Your passengers’ photos are displayed along the bottom of the Lyft app’s map, separated by ride. Tap them to see all of your upcoming rides, or contact a rider.
Decline if the route changes. If your current passenger alters their classic ride’s destination (and you’ll no longer be near your next pickup), tap ‘Decline’ in the route overview to cancel your next ride. As long as there’s a clear detour during your current ride, declining doesn’t hurt your acceptance rate.
Thanks to this new feature, you’ll enjoy more back-to-back requests, shorter ETAs, and better matching. We can’t wait to hear what you think.
