One of the best things about being a Lyft driver is the flexibility: You choose when to drive. Reserve the hours you want in advance, or simply drive into the coverage area and flip into driver mode. It's totally up to you which option to choose, but one of the key benefits of reserving hours in advance is the earnings estimate. When you log into the driver portal and pick the hours you're most interested in, you'll get an estimate on how much you can expect to make in a given hours. (Keep in mind it's an estimate, not a guarantee.)
Reserving hours will also give you text message alerts and email reminders so you're always on top of which hours you reserved. If you want to maximize your Lyft loot, just make sure you reserve those hours with the highest estimates. Cha ching!
Getting paid is a cinch. All you need to do is log into the driver portal and enter your bank account and tax information. Then, every week we'll automatically direct deposit all your earnings from the previous week directly into your checking account. This payout includes all rides from Monday at 5:00 a.m. local time to the following Monday at 4:59 a.m. Expect your payout on either Wednesday or Thursday, depending on your bank.
Along with your daily email summary, we'll also send you a weekly summary every Tuesday so you can keep track of all your earnings.
