With the Lyft community being so tight-knit, smile-inducing conversations happen often. What happens when one of those chats goes above and beyond, and you might've just found your new best friend?
Follow their lead. Instead of asking for their number (which puts them on the spot), let them initiate. If a passenger wants to stay in touch, suggest that they include their email address in your driver feedback after exiting the car, or leave a business card.
Bond over common interests. Things like hometowns and hobbies are great topics of conversation. Commenting on anything physical is off-limits, but feel free to compliment passengers on their music taste or knowledge of local events.
Offer an open invite. Public events are perfect places to reunite. Do you both have Corgi dogs? Suggest that they join you and your friends at the next dog park meetup. Never offer to meet them at their previous pickup or drop-off location — that's private information, and should only be used during active Lyft rides.
Thanks for keeping your rides a great experience for everyone involved. Remember, we want to hear about the amazing friendships you’re building. Share them with us at email@example.com
